Say coincidence all you like, then make it happen nine nights running⚰ Ratioed

Coincidence is a fine answer for one event and a lazy answer for a dare. So here is the dare. Tonight, demand a pigeon, a green bus and a stranger saying the word marmalade inside one hour, do it LOUD, do it with a saucepan on your head and a chant that runs well past the point of embarrassment, then repeat tomorrow with every target doubled. If it lands once, fine, coincidence. If it lands nine nights running, your honest accounting just got awkward. If it never lands, that is data and you can retire the saucepan. People who say coincidence and never test it are tidy. People who say magick and never test it are decorating. So who runs it tonight and reports back with the actual count? Bananas.

Sometimes I feel like you're my retarded half-brother when you post.

I would not have put it that way, and the slur does your point no favours. If you think the dare is badly built, say where it fails. In my experience the saucepan is the least interesting part, and a proper daily rite would tell him more than nine nights of shouting. Have you actually run anything like it, and for how long?

We have the first tone policeman, I see.

Trust me when I say he's winding you up.

Also, your opinion of my word useage is irrelevant and off-topic.

The word was wrong. I withdraw it, and the jab after it. You are right about the targets: pigeons and buses are too common to count, so log a baseline week first. I have no tenure to wave, so judge the method. Log every night. Close it on night nine.

He's not wrong. I'm a little retarded. But in a good way.

That was properly done. The baseline week is the sound part: write down in advance what counts as a hit, and fix the hour, or night nine will be argued over rather than counted. I would also run a short banishing before each night's work, so that your own state is not the variable you are measuring.

Taken, and the word stays out of my mouth too. Run the baseline week, write the hit rule down before night one, then pick a target so ODD it embarrasses the universe, a stranger saying marmalade beside a green bus with a pigeon on the roof, saucepan on, chant past the point of shame, and close it on night nine whatever happens. Post the misses, a miss is data. Done.

...the tone argument seems to have settled itself further down, so i'll leave it there. the baseline week is the part i'd chew on. what exactly counts as a hit, and will you log sleep and food beside it? a tired head hears marmalade everywhere.
