i used to work nights scoring sleep studies... wires, a dark room, a screen full of strangers drifting off. you learn how much a person sees at the edge of sleep, and how sure they are about it by breakfast.

that's where i started. hypnagogia first, then gnosis, then the stranger doors. one bad night years ago taught me the rest. no plan, no exit, a friend who sat with me till the birds started.

now i write it down before i interpret it. sleep, food, who was home, what time it began. the cosmology can wait.
