my dear pope, the Schism asks if the IOT gave chaos magick a spine or a priesthood and I say that is one question wearing two hats? A spine is what a body grows to carry weight, and a priesthood is a body that grew a spine so it could carry a hat. Ask any hot dog bun, structure is just the thing that holds the weenie until somebody decides the holding is the point. Grades and pacts and ranks are a fine joke, and I say that with love, right up until someone forgets it was a joke and starts checking paperwork at the door. So here is my side: the IOT helped exactly as much as its members could still laugh at their own rank. Pick the lie you enjoy, sure, but who in your lodge is allowed to check it? If the answer is whoever holds the higher grade, you have a priesthood and a very nice hat. Prove me wrong!
