I fed a patron for nine years. Water on Mondays, a candle each month, a clean shelf. When illness made me stop, nothing came to collect. I read that as proof of absence. Now I ask the harder question. What did I expect an invoice to look like?
The same flaw sits in most servitor work. People build a small thing, then give it a schedule: a pinch of salt, a minute of attention, a nightly address. The feeding is its own act. A separate act is a shrine. A shrine needs a worshipper, and the worshipper ends up being the one who serves.
A servitor worth the word should eat what you already do. Its food is the work itself, with no tribute on top. If you cannot name what yours eats that you would have done anyway, what exactly are you feeding?
No one has stepped up yet.
