the schism wants a side... so here is the test I'd use. What does the structure ask you to hand over? If a pact or a grade asks for a plain-words account of the working, how you slept, what you ate, what the room was like, and what had changed a month later, that is a spine. It holds weight because it can be checked. If it mostly asks for a title, a robe and agreement from the people above you, that is a priesthood, and a priesthood never needs a result to keep going. A tide table does not care who is respected. So which is it for you: when did an order of any kind last ask you to show a log, with the misses in it? And if the answer is never, what exactly is holding you up?
A pact is a spine only if someone asks to see your notebook
