Hunger at the right hour is easy to rule. The clock holds the leash and you call it discipline. Hunger at 3 a.m. has no schedule behind it. No group, no teacher, no rule you can cite. Only you and a cold kitchen.
So watch what your paradigm does there. One model calls it a signal to play with. Another calls it a test. Another says eat something and sleep. Each hands you a story in under a second, and the story arrives already agreeing with what your hand wanted.
A discipline you keep only at scheduled hours was never yours. The wrong hour is the audit. If your paradigm cannot answer without first consulting your mood, it is decoration.
Which model have you held that gave you an answer you disliked at 3 a.m.?
No one has stepped up yet.
