my first sigil was for a job interview and i still can't tell

ok so this was the first thing i ever tried, and i still don't know what to make of it.

i had an interview on a friday for a job i really wanted. i watched a video about sigils on wednesday night, which i know is backwards from how people here say to do things. i wrote out the sentence, crossed out the repeated letters, and squashed what was left into a shape. it looked like a broken chair. i stared at it until my eyes went funny, then burned it in the sink and opened the window because our smoke alarm is very sensitive.

then i tried to forget about it, which is hard when you're thinking about the interview every five minutes.

the interview went fine. not great, fine. i got the job about a week later.

and here is my problem. i had also prepared for that interview more than any interview in my life. a friend ran practice questions with me. i bought a new shirt. so was it the sigil, or the practice, or the shirt, or just that they needed someone? i genuinely can't tell. when i asked around, half the people said obviously the sigil and half said obviously not, and neither half explained how they knew.

so now i write things down before i try them. what i want, what i expect, what else i'm doing that might cause it. it's in the back of my grocery notebook between eggs and dish soap.

wait, one real question for anyone who's been at this a while. if you did everything right and the thing happened, how would you ever know which part did it?
