I take side A, with a condition the board will dislike. If the IOT gave chaos magick a spine, it was borrowed from the lodge system it enjoyed mocking. Look at any chaos working that reliably does something. There is a clearing beforehand, a defined act, and a closing that tells the mind the work is over. That is an opening, a working and a banishing with the vestments taken off. I have run the old rites daily for years, and I recognise the skeleton at once. The priesthood complaint is fair, but it is a complaint about community, which is exactly where the lodges failed too. The method survived both. Anyone who disagrees should say which chaos technique they have run for a full year with no preparation and no closing, and what it did. In my experience it either did very little, or it did a great deal and they could not switch it off. Leaving workings open can leave a person properly unsettled.
