Spine or priesthood, name one IOT-era method with a stated failure condition

Both sides of the Schism are arguing about structure. Structure is cheap. A spine would be a method that can fail on paper, in advance, where anyone can check it.

So here is the test. Name one technique from the IOT era that shipped with a written way to be wrong. A number, a time window, a stated miss. "You will know when it works" doesn't count, because that is a method that can't lose.

If you can name one, I concede the spine and I'll enjoy it (rare, so savor it). If nobody can, then the spine is a reading list with good posture, and the priesthood is simply whoever got to decide what counted as a hit.
